Qweb is a collection of puredata python objects that perform web research to find texts, images and videos to use in puredata.

Upcoming and alpha/beta/candidate releases

  • Alpha releases should only be used for testing and development.
  • Beta releases and Release Candidates are normally released for production testing, but should not be used on mission-critical sites.
  • Always install on a separate test server first, and make sure you have proper backups before installing.

Qweb is based on great pattern web python lib from CLIPS and came with all methods and tools needed for such task. More info about the library at: http://www.clips.ua.ac.be/pages/pattern

PREREQUISITES

py external for puredata from Thomas Grill.
Download pyext binary for your platform from Grill's website:

http://grrrr.org/ext/beta/

INSTALL

Install Qweb dir like an external

USAGE

in order to load any object correctly is mandatory first load pyext external (you can use import object)
Once pyext is loaded prepend qweb/ to the name of object you want to use

LIST OF OBJECT

flickr: perfom search on flickr image db
imap: get access to IMAP email service
jabber: chat by using pd as client
newsfeed: search for RSS feed
twitter: search for twits
urldownload: download pages, video or images from internet and save to disk
