This video is an overview of how the music and sound was constructed using the open source language Pure Data for the educational video game Sim Cell. The video explains how the Pure Data patch was used to generate music in a countless number of variations for the gameplay. The sound design is also described to detail how synthesis was used to generate all of the sounds. 10 Patches are available for download from VideoGameAudio.com.

The Pd-extended 0.43 release has been brewing an extra long time, about 18 months now, mostly because there are lots of big improvements, and we wanted to make sure we got it right, so your patches all work, but the improvements all shine. Its now solidly beta, so we're looking for testers.
A collection of 15 student patches for an interaction design course I was teaching at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. I hope that the patches will be useful to people playing around with Pure Data in a learning environment, installation artwork and other uses.

The 4th Pure Data Convention will be held August 08-14, 2011, at Liszt School of Music and Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar, Germany. In custom of the previous conventions we invite you to submit your papers related to the Pure Data programming environment in the fields of computer science, artistic creation and scientific research. The papers will be rated according to academic standards such as novelty and relevance in a peer review process. The Pd community is a heterogeneous group of users, developers, authors, artists, musicians, programmers; often in more than one role at a time.
Originally named PDPCAP , the project has been renamed PCAP (for pd) to avoid pdp objects confusion, and split the old pdpcap object in two diferent objects pcap_device and pcap_file. (old pdpcap object is included in the package).
