Workshop at the EarZoom Sonic Art Festival from 16.06.09 till 18.06.09 in Ljubljana / SLO

Pure Data (Pd) is a univeral, Open Source software environment for real-time generation and processing of audio, graphics, video and sensor data. It's a visual programming language, that allows to program in an easy and intuitive way, and is therefore widespread in the artistic community.

This 2-3 day work-shop gives an introduction to the possibilities of the system. The attendees will learn the fundamentals of programming audio/video/data in Pd. More in-depth questions will be answered on the basis of examples and showcases. Special time and attention is dedicated for independent work of the attendees, giving them the possibility to explore the environment. During "free work hours", the tutors will take care of the participants indivudually.

The attendees are asked to bring their own laptops (or other computers), wheron Pure data will be installed at the beginning of the workshop. Pd currently runs on all major operating systems (linux, Mac OS-X and Windos). Since Pd is a free and open-source software, installing Pure data is naturally without any cost.
