tvjt

... is a vj tool I'm currently working on.

tvjt is still in the works, but it won't be for too long ... I'll post some screen shots every now and then. Please have a look at the tvjt wiki page in the meantime and post your thoughts about tvjt there.

Once finished, it will have 4 render chains (or, put another way, layer) that can be blended over each other. Each render chain can have different types of input (live video input, video clips, pictures, your own output sampled, etc.) as source. There will be a number of filters that can be used to change the appearance (i.e., motion blur or colour adjustments) of this input. This texture will finally be rendered on one (or more) of the geos GEM has to offer (in the simplest case, this is an ordinary rectangle, but it could as well be a number of spheres that make up a real-time oscilloscope).

This thingie can be controlled via mouse, but it is aware of midi input as well. Imagine adjusting the alpha value of a renderchain with one of the faders of your midi controller ... To automate things, there will be a number of LFOs and not-so-low-frequent oscillators, beat detection and much more. All of these controllers can trigger different envelope generators, the resulting values can be used to control all possible (and imaginable) values of a renderchain.

To simplify the VJs life, tvjt will have a built-in state save functionality: it will be possible to save all settings of a render chain as preset to disk.

tvjt will be published under a Creative Commons License that allows you to use tvjt as you wish as long as you make the results of your work (namely, presets) freely available.
