if you download and install pd - extended under a german windows version starting pd with a double - click on the desktop - icon won't work. here's a howto for solving this problem: 1) download pd - extended 2) install pd not in the directory the install - manager suggests. use this directory instead: c:\Programme\pd (this is to avoid problems with the whitespace between "Pure" and "Data"). 3) open pd.bat in the main directory with an editor and replace the program paths as follows: C:\Programme\pd\bin\pd.exe and C:\Programme\pd\doc\vasp 4) save pd.bat 5) pd should now statup correctly by doubleclicking the icon on your desktop.
