jlooper by Justin Robert — last modified 2007-11-26 06:55 AM
built on the above, it is now a multichannel looper with a few presets, a much better gui, and a couple of built in synths. The second synth on channel 9 was based on FM synth in the documentation for pd-extended, but is still not working. The loopers work great though. Tracks 1 through 6 are good for guitar or another external instrument with presets that are very glitch sounding. There is also a recall button that is used in conjunction with the set button to bring you back to a setting you liked. the faders are as follows ds=delay speed dg=delay gain dc=delay crush(this is the randomizing delay from my previous patches)fs=filter speed bf=band frequency fr=frequency range. the buttons "hold, long, norm, stop, are all delay presets where hold is the endless loop, long is 99 percent, so it is pretty loopy, but eventually runs out. Channels 7 and 9 are the synth that I made that is really bad, but still sounds interesting, especially through the channels. the record buttons arm which ever channel you want to use, but you can click it off and still have the loops playing. for the future I plan on adding a pitch control and more thought out presets. Thanks for checking it out

here's the interface so far for the jlooper
jlooper-2.0 by Justin Robert — last modified 2008-01-22 05:19 AM
OK, I reworked the jlooper. I cleaned it up a bit, got rid of the synths, now its just straight audio 8 channel. I added ring modulation on each channel that is grouped into pairs as in 1-2 3-4 5-6 7-8 This patch is now awesome for making textured guitar ambiance, noise, or whatever. Its still got the filters and random delay features. I reworked the presets, and remade a master input to change all of the ring mods at once in different ways. I'm going to upload a file recorded with this patch and guitar too so you can hear what it does. Check it out.

This is a basic line in recorder written in PD. It can also easily be put inline to record your playing in pd.

here's an improvised piece I did with the new jlooper. Its just guitar and pd. Theres a little distortion that happens in the beginning from having my input level too hot, but it goes away. The piece is pretty abstract, ambient, glitch.
