Alexandre Quessy
Pure Data is very special to me. I use electronics, Gem, sounds and midi messages to create and combine together different means of expression. I am using different technologies to explore new forms of immersive environments for audio-video collaborative creation. Living in Montreal, I take an active part in the pdmtl meetings and I regularly give workshops on Pd and its uses for digital arts.
Here are some of my current works, objectives or ideas :
- generate music using many paramaters for dancers and circus performers (working on an interactive dance floor)
- generate jazz chords, pentatonic, ethnic scales and conterpoint
- create video installations (using Gem)
- I am currently collaborating on a set of abstractions for musical improvisation and composition and more. See Pd mtl abstractions.
- See the directory "externals/aalex" in the Pd CVS for some pieces of code I wrote.
Several organizations I am involved in :
- The Pure Data Montreal Users Group wiki pages.
- The LabCMO : a research group in communication using computers at Universite du Quebec a Montreal.
My web pure data-related web areas are :
- http://alexandre.quessy.net/?q=code : You will find there the explanation and files of several abstractions and objects
- http://www.sourcelibre.com/puredata/ : an old directory of patches.
- The Wikipedia french portal about interactive arts
